Fretmate は、合同会社 Appnics（以下「当社」）が提供する、ギターとベースの基礎練習のための iPhone と iPad のアプリです。アカウントやログインはありません。このポリシーでは、端末に残るもの、端末から送られるもの、それを扱う事業者と保持期間を説明します。日本語版と英語版に食い違いがある場合は日本語版が優先します。
1. 端末に残るもの
練習の記録（日時・長さ・メニュー）、セットごとの採点の数字（BPM、弾けた割合、ずれの平均とばらつき、粒のそろい、拍の位置ごとのずれ。コードのドリルでは、弾いた弦が正しかった音の数と、コードの切り替えで音が途切れた数）、ドリルごとの BPM、コードチェンジの記録（コードの組み合わせと 1 分の回数）、相棒の記憶、週の手紙、相談の履歴、初回起動の答え（楽器、利き手、歴、ブランク、好きなギタリスト、悩み、目標、1 日の時間）、練習の計画（奏法の重点、ジャンル、慣らし期間の日数、指の痛みを申告した日）、経路ごとの遅れの値、設定は、お使いの iPhone・iPad の中にだけ保存されます。iCloud では同期しません。
Fretmate には記録を別の端末に引き継ぐ機能がありません。機種変更のときは、iPhone・iPad 全体のバックアップから新しい端末に復元しない限り、記録は新しい端末に移りません。アプリを削除すると、記録もすべて削除されます。
2. マイクと声の操作
Fretmate は、弾いたタイミングを採点するためにマイクを使います。マイクの音は iPhone・iPad の中で採点にだけ使い、セットが終わると捨てます。録音した音を保存することも、当社や第三者に送ることもありません。練習の採点では音程（どのフレットの音か）を判定しません。ただし、ギターのコードのドリルでは、決めた弦を弾けたかを確かめるため、弾いた音の高さを iPhone・iPad の中で調べます。チューナーも、弦の音の高さを iPhone・iPad の中で読みます。どちらも音を保存・送信しません。
声の操作（「もう一回」「テンポ下げて」など）を有効にした場合、決まったコマンドの聞き取りは iPhone・iPad の中だけで行い、音声をどこにも送りません。声の操作は初期設定では無効で、設定からいつでも無効にできます。
3. AI の相棒（レビュー・週の手紙・相談）
練習のあとのレビュー、週の手紙、相談（チャット）と、「あなたの計画」で好きなギタリストを奏法の重点に対応づけることには、外部の AI 事業者 Anthropic（第 7 節）の AI モデル Claude を使います。これらは、初回起動の「AI の相棒について」の画面か、あとから設定で同意した場合にだけ使います。同意しない場合、アプリはこれらのために何も送らず、練習・採点・端末の中で作る短い総評と、アプリに入っている一覧で作る計画は同意なしで使えます。同意は設定からいつでも取り消せ、取り消したあとは送りません。
同意した場合に、アプリが当社のサーバーに送るものは次のとおりです。
- レビュー（練習を終えたとき）: 練習の数字の要約（ドリルの名前と BPM、セットごとの採点の数字、ドリルごとの最高 BPM と前回の値、練習の日付と分数、連続日数、その週の練習日数。コードのドリルでは、弾いた弦を判別できた音の数と正しかった音の数、切り替えで音が途切れた数と時間。その日のコードチェンジの記録（組み合わせ、回数、それまでの最高）。指の痛みを申告した日はその印）
- 週の手紙（月曜の最初の起動）: 前の週の要約（練習日数、分数、伸びた BPM、ずれやすい拍の位置）
- 相談: お客様が書いた相談の文と、直近 20 往復までの会話、記録の要約（ドリルごとの最高 BPM、連続日数、ずれやすい拍の位置）。相談の画面を閉じたときに、相棒の記憶を更新するため、その会話をもう一度送ります
- あなたの計画（初回起動と、設定で好きなギタリストを変えたとき）: 入力した好きなギタリストの名前（最大 5 人）のうち、アプリに入っている一覧で見つからなかった名前と、要求ごとの ID。楽器や購入の情報は付けません。Fretmate Pro でなくても、同意していれば送ります。あわせて、端末の確認（第 4 節）のための情報を送ります
- レビュー・手紙・相談のどれにも付けるもの: 初回起動と設定の答え（楽器、歴、ブランク、好きなギタリストの名前、悩み、目標）、計画の奏法の重点とジャンル、慣らし期間の何日目か（期間中だけ）、相棒の記憶（目標、苦手、相談で話した練習に関わること）、相棒の口調、アプリの言語。あわせて、端末の確認（第 4 節）と購入の確認（第 5 節）のための情報を送ります
当社のサーバーは、レビュー・手紙・相談では、これらのうち楽器・目標・ブランク・好きなギタリストの名前・計画の重点・記憶・数字・会話・口調・言語を Anthropic に渡して文を作らせ、できた文（レビュー・手紙は更新した記憶とともに、相談は順に流して）をアプリに返します。あなたの計画では、当社の一覧と、下の保存済みの対応で見つからなかった名前だけを Anthropic に渡して奏法の重点に対応づけさせ、結果をアプリに返します。Anthropic には、端末の確認と購入の確認のための情報や、お客様・端末の識別子は渡しません。
当社は、練習の数字、初回起動の答え、相棒の記憶、相談の文、AI が作った文を、データベースにもログにも保存しません。要求を処理するあいだだけ使います。例外は、次の好きなギタリストの名前です。
好きなギタリストの名前の保存: 同じ名前を毎回 AI に問い合わせないため、Anthropic が実在の音楽家として奏法の重点に対応づけた名前について、表記をそろえた名前（大文字・小文字、空白や記号、ひらがなとカタカナの違いをそろえたもの）、対応づけた奏法の重点とその確からしさ、使った AI モデル、日付を、当社のデータベースに期限を設けずに保存し、ほかの方が同じ名前を入れたときにも使います。端末の識別子や購入の情報とは結び付けずに保存するため、だれが入力した名前かは当社にも分かりません。対応づけられなかった名前は保存しません。
Anthropic の商用規約では、API の入力と出力はモデルの学習に使われず、30 日以内に削除されます（安全上・法令上の理由で長く保持する場合を除く。たとえば、利用ポリシーへの違反の疑いが自動の仕組みで検知されたときは最長 2 年）。
レビュー・手紙・相談の画面には「AI が書いています」と表示します。AI の文は誤りを含むことがあります。相棒は、けがや痛みについて医療の判断をしません。
4. 端末の確認と回数の制限
AI の機能の乱用を防ぎ、使った回数（レビューは 1 日、手紙は 1 週、相談は 1 か月、記憶の更新と計画の対応づけは 1 日ごと）を数えるため、Apple の App Attest を使います。計画の対応づけと、次の奏法の一覧の取得では、Fretmate Pro でなくても、同意していれば端末の確認を行います。アプリは端末で鍵を作って鍵 ID を端末のキーチェーンに保存し、当社のサーバーは、鍵 ID の一方向のハッシュ（SHA-256）、公開鍵、カウンター、Apple がその鍵に発行する証明のデータ、証明の環境、最初と最後に確認した時刻を保存します。回数は、このハッシュごとに期間別に数えます。同じ要求を二重に数えないため、要求ごとの ID と、このハッシュ、要求の種類、処理の状態を 48 時間保存します。広告識別子（IDFA）は使わず、ハッシュからお客様を特定することはできません。
同意している場合、アプリは 1 日 1 回まで、当社のサーバーから最新の奏法・ジャンル・ギタリストの一覧を取得します。このとき送るのは端末の確認のための情報だけです。同意していない場合は、アプリに入っている一覧だけを使い、取得しません。
5. 購入
Fretmate Pro（週額・年額の自動更新のサブスクリプション）は Apple を通じて購入します。決済は Apple が処理し、当社が支払いの情報や Apple アカウントを見ることはありません。
AI の機能を使うとき、Pro が有効かを確かめるため、アプリは App Store が署名した購読の記録（最新の取引と、あれば自動更新の状態）を送ります。当社のサーバーは、これで Pro が有効か（請求の猶予期間中を含む）を確かめるだけで、記録そのものは保存しません。計画の対応づけ（第 3 節）では、購入の記録を送りません。
1 つの購入での回数と、1 つの購入をその日に使った端末の数（1 日 3 台まで）を数えるため、購入の識別子（original transaction ID）を鍵つきの一方向のハッシュ（HMAC）にしたものを、回数と、その日に使った端末のハッシュ（第 4 節）とともに保存します。購入が返金・取り消しされたときは Apple から当社のサーバーに通知が届き、その購入の同じハッシュに返金・取り消しの状態を記録して、AI の機能で Pro として扱わなくします（返金が取り消されれば戻します）。購入の識別子そのもの、金額、日付は保存しません。
購入画面の表示や購入の完了などは、分析（第 6 節）でも数えます。
6. 分析
アプリの改善のため、当社は自社のサーバー（api.admin.appnics.io）で、アプリの使われ方を計測しています。送られるのは次のものです。
- アプリを入れたときに作るランダムな端末 ID と、使うたびに作るランダムなセッション ID
- アプリ内の操作の種類と時刻: アプリの起動と使っていた秒数、初回起動の開始・進んだ画面・完了、開いた画面の種類、購入画面の表示とその開いた場所、購入の開始・完了・キャンセルと商品、表示したエラーの種類、購入の復元の結果、使った機能の種類（練習のセット・練習の完了・レビュー（AI か端末の総評か）・手紙・相談・声の操作・遅れの合わせ込みの経路・コードチェンジの記録）、変えた設定の項目と選んだ値（楽器、利き手、口調、練習の長さ、声、声の操作、通知、AI の同意の有無、伴奏、外観）
- いまの課金の種別（無料・トライアル・サブスクリプション）と商品 ID
- アプリと iOS のバージョン、端末の言語、端末の種類（iPhone・iPad）、配布の経路
- 国（通信元から推定します。IP アドレスは保存しません）
サーバーは端末 ID をハッシュにして保存します。ユーザー ID・氏名・メールアドレス・位置情報・広告識別子・取引 ID・金額は含みません。相談の文、相棒の記憶、目標や好きなギタリストの名前などお客様が入力した文字、計画の奏法の重点・ジャンル、ブランク、練習の数字、音は送りません。データは当社のサーバーにだけ送り、他のアプリやサイトをまたいだ追跡には使わず、第三者に渡しません。

Vercel と Turso は米国の事業者ですが、当社のサーバーとデータベースは日本に置いています。第 3 節で Anthropic に渡すデータは米国に移転され、米国で処理されます。米国には日本の個人情報保護法に相当する包括的な連邦法がなく、個人情報の保護の制度はお住まいの国と同じ水準でない場合があります。当社はこれらの事業者を Fretmate の運用のためだけに使い、データを販売したり広告のために共有したりしません。
サーバーの事業者（Vercel）は、要求を届けるためと乱用を制限するために IP アドレスを処理し、短期間の要求のログを残します。当社は IP アドレスをデータベースに保存せず、要求の本文をログに出しません。

期間を過ぎたデータは 1 日 1 回動く処理で削除するため、最大で約 1 日長く残ることがあります。「最後に使って」は、その端末の鍵を当社のサーバーが最後に受け付けた時刻です。
9. お客様が選べること
- 設定の「AI の相棒を使う」で、同意をいつでも取り消せます。取り消すと、レビュー・手紙・相談・計画のために何も送らず、奏法の一覧も取得しません
- 設定の「相棒の記憶」で、記憶の中身を読み、項目ごとに、または全部を消せます。「好み」の節の好きなギタリスト・ジャンル・ブランクも消せます。消した項目は、次から送りません
- 設定の「好きなギタリスト・ジャンル」で、名前やジャンルを変えられます
- マイクと音声認識の許可は、設定アプリでいつでも変えられます。声の操作はアプリの設定で無効にできます
- アプリを削除すると、端末の中の記録はすべて削除されます
当社がお客様の端末について保存しているデータ（第 4・5 節）の削除をご希望の場合は、下の連絡先へご依頼ください。第 3 節で保存した好きなギタリストの名前は、だれが入力したかと結び付けていないため、お客様ごとに探して消すことはできません。当社は氏名・メールアドレス・アカウントを持たないため、人ごとにデータを探すことはできません。探す手がかりになる情報をお伺いすることがあり、いただいた情報でできる範囲で対応します。そのほかのご質問やご請求も同じ連絡先へお送りください。

Fretmate Privacy Policy

Fretmate is an iPhone and iPad app for practising the fundamentals of guitar and bass, provided by Appnics, LLC ("we"). It has no accounts and no sign-in. This policy explains what stays on your device, what leaves it, who handles it and for how long. If the Japanese and English versions differ, the Japanese version prevails.
1. What stays on your device
Your practice records (date, length and menu), the scores of each set (BPM, share of notes played, average and spread of timing, evenness, timing at each position in the beat; for chord drills, the notes played on the right string and the times the sound broke off at a chord change), the BPM of each drill, your chord-change records (the pair of chords and the count in one minute), Fretmate's memory, weekly letters, chat history, your answers at the first launch (instrument, handedness, years played, time away from playing, favorite guitarists, what you want to work on, goal, minutes a day), your practice plan (technique focus, genre, days into the easing-in period, days you reported sore fingers), the measured latency of each audio route and your settings are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. They are not synced through iCloud.
Fretmate has no way of moving your records to another device. When you change your iPhone or iPad, your records move to the new device only if you restore it from a backup of your whole iPhone or iPad. Deleting the app deletes all your records.
2. Microphone and voice commands
Fretmate uses the microphone to score the timing of what you play. The sound is used only on your iPhone or iPad for scoring and is discarded when the set ends. Recorded sound is never saved, and never sent to us or anyone else. Practice scoring does not judge pitch (which fret was played). On the guitar chord drills, however, the pitch of each note is examined on your iPhone or iPad to check whether you picked the planned string, and the tuner reads the pitch of your strings on your iPhone or iPad. Neither saves or sends the sound.
If you turn on voice commands (such as "one more" or "slower"), the fixed commands are recognised on your iPhone or iPad only, and your voice is not sent anywhere. Voice commands are off by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings.
3. The AI companion (reviews, weekly letters and chat)
The review after practice, the weekly letter, the chat, and matching your favorite guitarists to a technique focus for "Your plan", use Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic, an external AI provider (section 7). They are used only if you agree, on the "About the AI" screen at the first launch or later in Settings. If you do not agree, the app sends nothing for them; practice, scoring, a short summary written on the device and a plan made from the list built into the app work without it. You can withdraw your agreement at any time in Settings, and nothing is sent after that.
If you agree, the app sends our server the following:
- Review (when you finish practising): a summary of the numbers of your practice (drill names and BPM, the scores of each set, the best BPM of each drill and the previous one, the date and minutes of practice, the days in a row and the days practised that week; for chord drills, the notes whose string could be identified and how many were right, and how often and how long the sound broke off at chord changes; that day's chord-change records (pair, count and previous best); and, on a day you reported sore fingers, a flag saying so)
- Weekly letter (at the first launch on a Monday): a summary of the previous week (days and minutes practised, BPM gained, positions in the beat that tend to be off)
- Chat: the messages you write and the conversation up to the last 20 exchanges, and a summary of your records (best BPM of each drill, days in a row, positions in the beat that tend to be off). When you close the chat, the conversation is sent once more so that Fretmate's memory can be updated
- Your plan (at the first launch, and when you change your favorite guitarists in Settings): the names of your favorite guitarists (up to five) that are not in the list built into the app, and an ID for the request. No instrument or purchase information is attached. It is sent if you agree, even without Fretmate Pro. The app also sends the information for the device check (section 4)
- With each review, letter and chat: your answers at the first launch and in Settings (instrument, years played, time away from playing, the names of your favorite guitarists, what you want to work on, goal), your plan's technique focus and genre, the day of the easing-in period (only during it), Fretmate's memory (your goals, weak spots and practice-related things you said in the chat), the companion's voice you chose and the app's language. The app also sends the information for the device check (section 4) and the purchase check (section 5)
For reviews, letters and chat, our server passes the instrument, goal, time away from playing, favorite guitarists' names, technique focus, memory, numbers, conversation, voice and language to Anthropic to write the text, and returns the text to the app (the review and letter with the updated memory; the chat as it is written). For your plan, it passes to Anthropic only the names not found in our own list or in the stored matches below, to match them to a technique focus, and returns the result to the app. Anthropic does not receive the information for the device and purchase checks, or any identifier of you or your device.
We do not store the numbers of your practice, your first-launch answers, Fretmate's memory, your chat messages or the text written by the AI, in our database or in our logs. They are used only while the request is being handled. The one exception is the names of favorite guitarists, below.
Stored guitarist names: so that the same name is not sent to the AI every time, for each name that Anthropic matched as a real musician we keep, with no time limit, the name in a normalised form (case, spaces, punctuation and Japanese kana unified), the technique focus it was matched to and its confidence, the AI model used and the date, and we use it when anyone enters the same name. It is stored without any identifier of your device or purchase, so we cannot tell who entered it. Names that could not be matched are not stored.
Under Anthropic's commercial terms, inputs and outputs of its API are not used to train its models, and Anthropic deletes them within 30 days, except where it must keep them longer for safety or legal reasons (for example, up to 2 years when its automated trust and safety systems flag a possible usage policy violation).
The review, letter and chat screens are marked "Written by AI". Text written by AI may contain mistakes. Fretmate does not make medical judgments about pain or injuries.
4. Device check and usage limits
To keep the AI features free of abuse and to count how many times you used them (reviews per day, letters per week, chat per month, memory updates and plan matching per day), the app uses Apple's App Attest. For plan matching and for fetching the list below, the device check is made if you agree, even without Fretmate Pro. It creates a key on your device and keeps the key's ID in the device's Keychain; our server keeps a one-way hash (SHA-256) of the key's ID, the public key, a counter, the attestation data Apple issues for the key, its environment, and the times it was first and last seen. Usage is counted per hash and per period. To avoid counting the same request twice, the request's ID is kept with this hash, the kind of request and its state for 48 hours. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and we cannot tell who you are from the hash.
If you agree, the app fetches the latest list of techniques, genres and guitarists from our server at most once a day, sending only the information for the device check. If you do not agree, it uses only the list built into the app and fetches nothing.
5. Purchases
Fretmate Pro (an auto-renewing weekly or yearly subscription) is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details or Apple Account.
When you use an AI feature, the app sends the App Store's signed records of your subscription (the latest transaction and, when there is one, its auto-renewal status) so our server can check that Pro is active, including during a billing grace period. The server checks them and does not store them. Plan matching (section 3) sends no purchase records.
To count usage per purchase and the number of devices using one purchase each day (up to three), we keep a keyed one-way hash (HMAC) of the purchase's identifier (original transaction ID), with the counts and the hashes of the devices (section 4) that used it that day. Apple notifies our server when a purchase is refunded or revoked; we record that status against the same hash so the purchase no longer counts as Pro for the AI features, and clear it if the refund is reversed. We never store the purchase's identifier itself, the amount or the date.
Showing the paywall, completing a purchase and similar actions are also counted in analytics (section 6).
6. Analytics
To improve the app, we measure how it is used on our own server (api.admin.appnics.io). What is sent:
- a random device identifier created when the app is installed, and a random session identifier created each time you use it
- which actions happened in the app and when: the app opened and how many seconds it was used, the first launch started, the screens you went through and its end, which screens were opened, the paywall shown and where it was opened from, a purchase started, completed or cancelled and its product, the kind of error shown, the result of Restore Purchases, which features were used (a practice set, a finished practice, a review (by AI or the on-device summary), a letter, the chat, a voice command, the audio route calibrated, a chord-change record), and which settings were changed and the option chosen (instrument, handedness, companion voice, practice length, voice, voice commands, notifications, agreement to use AI, backing, appearance)
- your current plan (free, trial or subscription) and its product ID
- the app and iOS versions, your device's language, the kind of device (iPhone or iPad) and the distribution channel
- your country, estimated from the connection; the IP address is not stored
The server stores the device identifier only as a hash. None of it carries a user ID, a name, an email, a location, an advertising identifier, a transaction ID or an amount. Your chat messages, Fretmate's memory, anything you typed (such as your goal or your favorite guitarists), your plan's technique focus and genre, your time away from playing, the numbers of your practice and sound are never sent. The data goes only to our own server. It is not used to track you across apps or websites and is not shared with third parties.
7. Who handles the data, and where

Vercel and Turso are US companies, but our servers and databases are in Japan. The data passed to Anthropic in section 3 is transferred to and processed in the United States, which has no comprehensive federal law equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and may not offer the same level of protection as your country's laws. We use these providers only to run Fretmate and do not sell or share your data for advertising.
Our server's provider (Vercel) processes your IP address to deliver requests and to limit abusive traffic, and keeps short-lived request logs. We do not store IP addresses in our database and do not write request contents to our logs.

Data past its period is deleted by a job that runs once a day, so it may stay up to about one more day. "Last used" is the last time the device's key was accepted by our server.
9. Your choices
- Withdraw your agreement at any time with "Use the AI" in Settings; nothing is then sent for reviews, letters, chat or your plan, and the list is no longer fetched.
- Read "What Fretmate remembers" in Settings and delete items one by one or all at once, including your favorite guitarists, genre and time away from playing under "What you like"; deleted items are not sent again.
- Change your favorite guitarists or genre in Settings.
- Change the microphone and speech recognition permissions at any time in the Settings app, and turn off voice commands in the app's settings.
- Deleting the app deletes all records on the device.
To have the data we hold for your device (sections 4 and 5) deleted, write to us at the contact below. The guitarist names stored under section 3 are not linked to whoever entered them, so we cannot find and delete them per person. Because we hold no name, email or account, we cannot look up data by person, so we may ask you for details that help us find it, and we will do what we can with the information you provide. The same applies to any other question or request.
